Everyone has the right to request the digital accessibility of a website, a mobile application or an element thereof. It is also possible to request access to information in alternative forms, for example, the reading of a digitally inaccessible document, a description of the content of a film without an audio description, etc. The request should include the identity of the person making the request, an indication of which website or mobile application is being requested and how to contact it. If the person making the request wishes to receive the information in an alternative form, they should also specify the form in which the information is to be provided.
The public entity shall comply with the request immediately and no later than within 7 days. If this time limit cannot be complied with, the public entity shall inform the public entity without delay when the request can be complied with, but this time limit shall not exceed 2 months. If accessibility cannot be ensured, the public body may propose an alternative means of accessing the information.
Where an entity refuses to comply with a request to provide accessibility or alternative access to information, a complaint may be lodged against such action.
After all possibilities have been exhausted, the complaint may also be sent to Ombudsman Office.
