Melanoma treatment - research seminar within POB1

The guest of the seminar will be prof. Theresa L. Whiteside from the University of Pittsburgh, who will give a lecture on "Small extracellular vesicles (exosomes) as promising biomarkers of melanoma progression." The meeting will take place this Wednesday, May 19 at 4:00 p.m. as part of Priority Research Area 1: computational oncology and personalized medicine.

In recent years, there has been a large increase in the incidence of the so-called civilization diseases, which are currently responsible for over 80% of deaths. There was a need to improve both the diagnosis and the planning and monitoring of the effects of disease therapy. This is achieved by integrating science and technology with medicine and biology, which allows for a greater understanding of the causes and evolution of diseases. This thematic scope is dealt with in Priority Research Area 1: computational oncology and personalized medicine, under which regular seminars are organized.

During the next meeting, a lecture will be given by prof. Theresa L. Whiteside from the University of Pittsburgh in the United States.

Prof. Theresa L. Whiteside is a clinical immunologist with many years of experience in the evaluation of human immune-mediated diseases. Professor Whiteside's research work is available on the PubMed database pages and Researchgate.
