Prof. Eva Tillová

University of Žilina, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Materials Engineering,  Slovakia.

Eva Tillová was born in Žilina, Slovakia. She studied at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of the University of Transport and Communications in Žilina, where she obtained her Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1988. At this faculty, she continued her doctoral studies in the field of Physical Metallurgy and Limit States of Materials and defended her PhD. degree in 1993. In 2003, after a successful habilitation procedure, she was appointed associate professor in the field of Materials Engineering. In 2010, she was appointed Professor in Materials by the President of the Slovak Republic.

In her scientific and professional activities, she focuses on predicting and possibilities of increasing the useful properties of structural materials, with an emphasis on secondary aluminium alloys for castings, graphitic cast irons and structural steels; on modelling the influence of modification, inoculation and hardening on the structure and selected mechanical properties of materials; on metallographic analyses of structural materials.

She has developed and is constantly supplementing with new knowledge a unique method for the application of deep etching in the study of 3D-morphology of phases of cast materials, with the aim of possible determination of growth models and systematization of intermetallic phases in Al-Si alloys.

Since 2010, she has been a professor at the Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Žilina. She lectures and leads laboratory exercises and seminars in material disciplines. Since 2012, she has been the head of the Department of Materials Engineering. From 2008 to 2012, she was the Vice-Dean for Development and Foreign Relations and from 2012 to 2024, the Vice-Dean for Scientific and Research Activities of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Žilina.

She closely cooperates with universities in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Italy.

Prof. Oleh Polishchuk

Khmelnytskyi National University, Faculty of Engineering, Transport and Architecture, Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine.

Oleh Polishchuk was born on January 13, 1971. In 1996, he graduated from the Technological University of Podillia (Khmelnytskyi), majoring in "Machines and devices for textile, light industry and household services". Received the degree of mechanical engineer. After completing postgraduate studies in 2001, he defended his candidate's thesis and obtained the degree of candidate of technical sciences, and in 2004 he received the academic title of associate professor and in 2020 he received the academic title of professor. From September 1, 2024, he is the dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Transport and Architecture of the Khmelnytskyi National University.

Professor Oleh Polishchuk's current research is related to the development of energy-saving electric drives of machines, renewable energy, additive technologies, in particular 3D printing and others. In addition, he teaches the subjects "Non-traditional and renewable energy sources", "Safety of machines, devices and systems", "Electrical equipment of vehicles", "Technological processes and industry equipment" for students. He took responsibility for the organization of a number of national and international conferences, scientific and practical seminars, in particular the International Conference "Ukrainian-Polish Scientific Dialogues", which is held every two years at Khmelnytskyi National University and universities in Poland.

Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran

Pamukkale University Engineering Faculty, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Denizli, Turkey

Cemal Meran was born on April 03, 1972. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering 1993. He obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in Turkey at Pamukkale University (2001). He progressed all experiments of Ph.D. study at Fachhochschule Regensburg (the current name is Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg), in Germany from 1996 to 2001. He took an academic position at the University of Pamukkale (2002-present). In April 2013, he was promoted to Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He also carries administrative responsibilities including being, Manager of the Center of Materials Research and Application since 2009.

Dr. Meran has been in close contact with Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland since 2007. In this context, he has contributed to the education of dozens of Polish students and academicians in Turkey within the scope of Erasmus and Pamukkale University students in Silesian University of Technology, and to the understanding of the people of both countries and their cultures. During this period, Dr. Meran participated in congresses organized by Silesian University of Technology in nearly ten different cities of Poland as a member of the organizing committee, executive committee and by presenting papers. He is married and has two sons.

Prof. Ing. Peter Palček, PhD

University of Žilina, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Materials Engineering, Univerzitná 8215/1, 010 26 Žilina, Slovakia

Peter Palček was born in Košeca, Slovakia. He studied at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of the University of Transport and Communications in Žilina, where he obtained his Ing degree.
