- The purposes of the processing and the legal basis for the processing
Your personal data is processed in order to register your participation in “Transport Problems – Conference&Symposium”, to communicate with participants in order to organise “Transport Problems – Conference&Symposium”, to document its course and, in the case of consent to receive information about conferences and events of a scientific profile or popularising science organised by Silesian University of Technology and its co-organisers - also to send such information in the future.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (your consent to the processing of your personal data has been given by completing the registration form and separately in the case of other conferences or events organised by co-organisers), and Article 6(1)(e) (the organisation by universities of scientific events carried out as part of their public tasks and the provision of information about such events to members of the University Community and alumni, as well as to persons whose contact details come from publicly available sources). The Act - The Law on Higher Education and Science - on the one hand imposes public tasks on HEIs, which they have to undertake (Article 11(1)), and on the other hand guarantees their autonomy in all areas of their activities according to the rules set out in the Act (Article 9(2)), which allows HEIs to independently define detailed objectives and forms of activity within the status designated by the law. In fulfilling the tasks indicated in the aforementioned Act and making use of the autonomy granted, guided by the European university tradition, the Silesian University of Technology carries out activities for the benefit of local and regional communities). and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest of the administrator related to the defence against possible claims).
- The provision of data is voluntary but necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending a request by e-mail to transportproblems@polsl.pl, which does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal of consent.
- Period of storage of personal data
The personal data you provide and which are processed in connection with your participation in “Transport Problems – Conference&Symposium” will be processed for the duration of the retention of the financial and accounting records of the conference by the co-organisers. If you have given your consent to receive information about conferences and events of a scientific profile or popularising science, your personal data will be processed until you withdraw your consent.
- Data recipients
Images of participants/photos from the conference may be transferred to the event partners (Katowice City Hall, Polish Association of Doctoral Candidates (KRD), Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Poland, institutions managing the "Excellent Science" program in Republic of Poland, Polish National Police, Inspectorate of Road Transport of Republic of Poland). The personal data you provide will not be disclosed to other entities, with the exception of entities authorised by law.
- Information on the intention to transfer data to third countries and international organisations
Your data will not be transferred to third countries or international organisations.
- Rights in relation to the processing of personal data
You have the right to access, rectify, restrict processing and erase your data. You have the right to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority in charge of personal data protection, i.e. the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
- Information on automated decision-making
Your data will not be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
Furthermore, we would like to inform you that in order to document “Transport Problems – Conference&Symposium” photographs and films may be taken during the event, which may be published on websites and in publications belonging to the Silesian University of Technology, Media Patrons//Honorary Patrons of the Conference/Symposium, Chairman of Scientific Conferences "sladkowski.com" website and also can be transferred to the Confeernce&Symposium participant and the Minister of Education and Science of Poland because Conference is co-financed from the state budget under the "Excellent Science" program of the Minister of Education and Science of Poland support of scientific conferences project no. DNK/SP/549716/2022.
If the event will be organised with the use of an Internet platform allowing for audio and video recording, and you do not consent to the use and dissemination of your image for information and promotional purposes of the Silesian University of Technology, please do not switch on the camera during the event.
Participation in the conference/symposium means consent to participate in the event organised using the Internet platform (Zoom & YouTube, limited access).
You should be aware that participation in the conference means that after accepting the submitted paper and presentation, they will be included in the conference materials, on a durable data carrier (e.g. CD/DVD). This data carrier will be provided to conference participants, media patrons, and the Katowice City Hall, Polish Association of Doctoral Candidates (KRD), Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Poland, institutions managing the "Excellent Science" program in Republic of Poland, Polish National Police, Inspectorate of Road Transport of Republic of Poland.
